ABOUT ME
Experienced Mental Health
Professional
I am a licensed mental health professional with a degree in Psychology from the University of Costa Rica and over 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist. Since 1995, I have provided therapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups. In 2008, I earned a Master’s (M.Sc.) in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas, and I have been practicing in Texas under my LMFT license (#201365) ever since.
Throughout my career, my passion has been supporting clients as they navigate life’s challenges. In Costa Rica, I also led workshops and retreats, and in Texas, I have worked extensively with couples and families from diverse cultural, spiritual, and ethnic backgrounds to help them strengthen their relationships and quality of life.
My Approach:
I am a certified Parent Educator in Positive Discipline and had the privilege of participating in workshops led by Jane Nelsen, co-founder of the Positive Discipline Association. In 2012, I attended Level 1 Couples Therapy Training at the Gottman Institute, led by Dr. John Gottman himself. In therapy with couples, I primarily use Solution-Focused and Brief Psychotherapy, emphasizing the present and immediate future. We set achievable goals to make the therapeutic process clear, practical, and results-oriented. For individuals, I incorporate CBT techniques and coping strategies to address anxiety, depression, and stress.
Relationship Coaching:
In April 2018, I became a certified Master Life Coach, specializing in helping couples and individuals worldwide achieve their relationship goals. I offer both coaching and counseling services tailored to individuals and couples seeking positive change, regardless of their circumstances.
My services are offered in English and Spanish.
Welcome to my site—I look forward to supporting you on your journey!
